SIMPOL Developer Kit
The SIMPOL Developer Kit provides the components necessary for creating applications of all types: desktop, web server, and standalone server applications. The resulting applications will run on Windows (98, Me, NT, 2000, XP, Vista) and Linux (Intel 386 or better). Applications built using the SIMPOL programming language and the redistributable libraries can be redistributed without runtime costs. Multi-user database applications can be redistributed by purchasing licenses for the SIMPOL Multi-User Database Engine.
Later releases of the SIMPOL Developer Kit will include support for deploying applications on Mac OS-X, Windows CE devices, and SymbianOS. To make sure that you automatically receive all updates, buy the annual software maintenance contract.
SIMPOL Desktop
SIMPOL Desktop is a light-weight end-user database product that includes the ability to create and maintain database tables, access single-user and multi-user databases, create forms and reports, import and export data, and to load and run extension program code. It runs natively on Windows and Linux and is completely written in SIMPOL. It is also included as part of the SIMPOL Developer Kit. Using SIMPOL Desktop, it is possible to create an application based on database tables, forms and reports. These can be deployed to others using SIMPOL Desktop. More extensive and tailored applications can be created using the components created with SIMPOL Desktop by using SIMPOL Developer Kit. Applications can be rapidly deployed by writing them as extensions to SIMPOL Desktop rather than reinventing all of that functionality over again.
SIMPOL Multi-User Database Engine
The SIMPOL Multi-User Database Engine can be used not only from SIMPOL but also from Superbase as of version 3.6i. It is a powerful and high-speed database engine that can be run on Windows or Linux. For each separate deployment location using the multi-user database capabilities of SIMPOL, a separate database engine license is required. These are available as 5-connection, 10-connection, and unlimited connection licenses.
