Whenever I try to copy and paste an option button, it pastes multiple copies (20+). Anyway around it? Jean Vallee

Sounds like a bug to me. Can you send me a copy of the form you are using so I can try to replicate it?

I could swear I sent this before but I must be having a senior moment.

Still having prob with copy/paste of option button but also have a 2nd
prob. Create an option button on Page 2, save, close Personal, reopen
and option button is now on page 1.

While you are looking, I found these other quirks.
Bold attribute turns off when you change text alignment
Undo does not return you to the page you were on
Some text fields do not keep text color (must click on them again to
    show text in selected color)

I've attached a screen cap with notations and the form.

    Thanks!
    Jean

While you are looking at FD, would you please add the filename of the
    form to the title bar?

I have 6 3 page forms that are exactly alike (for now) except for some
data fields on the 3rd page.

It would be helpful to know I'm working on the correct form without
having to go to the 3rd page and inspect a field.

    One more thing…
When you maximize a form, the part of the screen outside the form is
always dark gray. Anyway to make that match the background of the form?

If you mean when you maximize a window, you would have to set the window backgroundrgb to that of the form it contains.

    Ciao, Neil

    Hi Jean,

As it turns out, the problem had two issues. The first one is that it was calling a piece of common code shared between the part
that saves complete forms and the part that copies selected controls as mini-forms into the clipboard. The code that saves an
option button, always retrieves the option group and then saves all of the controls of the group. It then marks the group as
having been saved, so that when the next call comes in to save a control in that group, it is ignored. This needed to be
significantly enhanced to cope with the case where only some members of an option group might be selected.

The paste also needed work for similar reasons.

The problem with controls going to the wrong page had to do with the fact that the group is always output together, and the group
name was not being changed when pasted to a new page. The system currently defaults to pasting members of a group with an existing
name into the same group, but that shouldn't happen if you paste them onto a page that doesn't have that group.

This is now all working as it should on my current copy. The rules are fairly straightforward:

If you copy one or more option button(s) and paste them back, they will go into the same group.
If you paste them to a new page, they will go into a new group name.
If you want to paste one on the same page to start a new group, you first have to paste it. Then double-click on it and change its
group name to a new one.
You can then copy it and paste it back to create new members of the new group.

These problems are specific to option buttons, because they are the only control type that is a member of a group by default and
therefore they have to be managed as members of a group.

Generally I tend to use combo boxes nowadays for things I used to use option buttons for. They use less space and are simply
easier to manage. Adding a new option is just a bit of new text in the combo, no changes to form geometry are required.

    New release is coming soon.

    Ciao, Neil
